I have a fun job as a sales associate at The Pink Palm in Charlottesville, a Lilly Pulitzer Signature Store, and have so much fun playing with all the clothes from my favorite brand whenever I’m home and working. When I’m at school, I like to occasionally look at the new items online so I stay in the loop! I was checking out the spring line today and I love the pastel pink, soft green, classic navy, and crisp white palette incorporated into floral patterns. The silhouettes are classic and cute! I always change my opinions on items when I see them in the flesh and get a chance to try them on, but from my initial impressions online, here are my top ten items from the spring line:
I absolutely LOVE the Callahan Short! They are extremely comfortable and have a 5-inch inseam. It’s the perfect short for throwing on to run around town. I chose this print because I have a fascination with cats–some of my friends and I are occasionally known to “meow” and “purrrr”. So a print called “Call Me Kitty Cat” is definitely a fit for me! I would pair this item with any basic tee, polo, or tank in Resort White or Lilly’s Pink.
Toile is so elegant and classic–it’s something I hope to incorporate in my home decor someday. The jade green toile combined with the soft ruffles and floaty swiss dot fabric are so feminine–this is definitely a dress to feel pretty in! It’s also nice and light for the heat and humidity of Central Virginia.
Who can resist a pair of scallop-edged shorts? In seersucker?! They are just too cute for words and have a similar fit to the Callahan. My only concern is that they may be a bit too sheer. They come in pink, too, which is cute, but I love the white to pair with ANY color or with item #4…
The McKim is Lilly’s classic, basic sandal and in gold it goes with everything. The most exciting part is that the price point has come down! These same exact sandals used to cost $128, I believe, so these (almost) seem like a steal at $88!
This is the same print as the Allison Top, but with a white background. I’ve been loving long sweaters all fall and winter and this lightweight cotton one is perfect for continuing the trend into spring. I would wear this exactly as pictured, with white jeans and a navy top. For a summery nighttime look, I’d wear a white top underneath, gold jewelry, and wedges!
Murfee scarves are awesome! They work year round, as the fine-gauge woven silk/cotton blend is light enough with a summer tank and adds just a bit of warmth to any winter ensemble. I have the lime-y green and pink floral print Murfee from which a portion of the proceeds went to the American Cancer Society (how philanthropic of me!), but I’d love to add another to start a collection. This print would be the perfect addition because it’s a darker combination than the one I already have and includes all my favorite colors!
Finally, this beautiful spring sandal is to die for! The stones are beautiful and can be dressed up or down for any occasion. They would pair marvelously with any of the navy items on my list. The low wedge, which can’t be seen from this angle, is still comfortable and adds to the shoes’ versatility. I don’t have a pair of navy sandals and it can be a difficult color to find in footwear, so these would be a great pick!
Even though I’ve already listed 10 items, I want to include one more because, strangely, I only was able to find a picture of it paired with a top. The listing for the skirt itself was nowhere to be found on the LP website! The pattern is so adorable and reminds me of “Let Them Eat Cake” from last year. I regret not getting anything in the cake print last year so I really would like to find this skirt in a perfume bottle pattern called “Spritz”:
Does anyone know why this skirt isn’t listed on the website? Is it already sold out? Please, say it ain’t so! On a side note, I don’t like the skirt worn with a blue top at all–sometimes you should just stick with what you know works: pink.
What items from LP are you eyeing this spring? Let me know with a comment! :)
